Multiplier Betfair:
If we look at Betfair exchange we can easily see that not all events are
populated
with money to
bet. In Betfair all bets are offered by other gamblers and not directly by Betfair. For this
reason,
on events with a large volume of money to bet, the difference between the back and lay odds is
very
small and on other less important events there may be much less money or not at all.
At the same time, where there is little money, there can be big differences between the back and
lay
odds offered for betting.
If for example the minimum difference between back and lay is 0.01 at levels
below
2 this
difference increases at levels above 2, 3 and can reach much higher values at levels above 10.
For
this reason we have introduced a filter called "multiplier" .
The multiplier practically shows us if there is any hole between the back and lay quota in
Betfair.
At value 1 it means that there is no hole and the other values (2, 3, ..) show us how many such
holes there are and signal us an opportunity to be the first to fill those holes.
The idea is that the more we select a smaller multiplier, the more relevant odds we will find
and if
we select a larger multiplier we will find empty places to offer bets at better values for us.
